The National Poisons Centre is the only service of its kind in New Zealand, we aspire to:

• Provide 24/7 high quality poisoning assessment and treatment advice that is immediately available to all New Zealanders
• Reduce the burden on healthcare resources in situations where patients can be safely managed at home
• Optimise the care of poisoned patients through clinical consultation, research, and ongoing professional education
• Promote public health through poisoning surveillance, public education in poison prevention, and emergency preparedness efforts
• Maintain and constantly improve TOXINZ™ as a poisons information database of distinction
